At Ninch Kids, we love supporting our local community. This year we are thrilled to participate in the Dolphin Research Institute (DRI) Christmas Auction, an annual fundraiser that supports DRI’s vital work around Port Phillip and Westernport Bays. Our donation includes a curated gift pack featuring our Mornington Peninsula ABC: An Alphabet Adventure book, an A4 giclee print titled We Love Weedy Seadragons, and two adorable ocean-themed felt finger puppets from our friends at Create and Wonder.
Why We Support the Dolphin Research Institute
DRI plays an essential role in conserving our local marine ecosystems and protecting the dolphins and other marine life that call our bays home. Through research, conservation efforts, and education programs, DRI inspires young people to become stewards of the sea. As advocates for local exploration and learning, we align deeply with DRI's mission to connect the community to the wonders of marine life and to inspire the next generation of ocean lovers.
Our Auction Item : A Gift Pack Celebrating Marine Life
Our gift pack was designed with young explorers in mind, showcasing elements that celebrate the beauty of our local coastlines:
- ABC Book: Our Mornington Peninsula ABC: An Alphabet Adventure takes readers on an alphabetical journey through our region, introducing kids to local landmarks, flora, and fauna, including special pages about our marine environments including the stunning Mud Islands and Popes Eye, as well as icons like the Cape Schanck Lighthouse where you can try your luck a whale watching.
- A4 Print – We Love Weedy Seadragons: This vibrant open edition giclee print celebrates the quirky charm of one of Port Phillip's most beloved residents, the Weedy Seadragon, making it a perfect addition to any child’s room and a reminder of the fascinating underwater world nearby.
- Felt Finger Puppets: Designed in Australia by Create and Wonder, and hand crafted by artisans in Nepal, the ocean-themed puppets add a playful and tactile touch to our storytelling, inviting young minds to imagine and learn about the creatures that live in our seas.
