Celebrating a whole year of ABC adventures

Can you believe it's been a whole year since we launched our Mornington Peninsula ABC: An Alphabet Adventure children's picture book —a book that celebrates the Mornington Peninsula through the eyes of little adventurers.

And wow—what a year it’s been!

From local stockists who welcomed Mornington Peninsula ABC: An Alphabet Adventure onto their shelves, to teachers and librarians weaving it into their reading time, and the many families who’ve embraced it as a bedtime favourite—this year has been filled with heartwarming stories that remind us why we started this adventure.

When we set about creating this book, we wanted families, locals, and visitors alike to see the beauty and uniqueness of our region in a whole new way. We've loved hearing families tell us of places they've visited or popped on their "must-visit" lists as a result of our book. Visitors planning their Mornington Peninsula holiday itinerary around it, and kids recounting their adventures as each page turns. Heck, we've even had a grandparent well up as he's read it to his grandchildren, because it's reminded him of his childhood on the Mornington Peninsula. Awwwwww.

Some milestones from throughout the year that we’re proud to celebrate:

Best seller - We've been a best selling book across many of our local  stockists throughout the year. The cherry (or cherries) on top - At our local bookshop -  Farrell's in Mornington - we've made their Children's Picture Book Best Sellers list numerous times and also made their Best of 2023. Pinch me moments!!!

Donations - We've donated copies to local schools, kindergartens, day care centres, libraries and charities to ensure our book is accessible to as many local kids as possible. We'll continue this work through 2025, but did you know you can also help with our donation package - click here for more details.

Author & Illustrator Visits - we've loved sharing our story with local kinders, schools, libraries and day care centres with our fun and engaging Author & Illustrator visits. We'll continue to do more of these next year, so if you'd love for us to pay your school, kinder, library or event a visit, please reach out via email.

Your feedback - whether it's at one of our events, store visits or market stalls, we’ve seen and heard our little adventurers recognise their favourite landmarks, from Arthurs Seat to Cape Schanck, the Quarantine Station to Flinders Pier and through our pages, share their own stories with us. We love hearing feedback and would love some Google reviews (as a small business this helps us immensely and doesn't cost you a cent!). If you and your kids have enjoyed our book we'd love you to hear from you or you can leave us a review here.

This adventure wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our community. So, whether you’re a stockist championing local makers, a teacher or librarian sharing the joy of storytelling, or one of our amazing readers exploring alongside us—thank you.

We’re so excited for what’s ahead in 2025 (hint: something new is in the works!), and we hope you’ll continue to join us on this adventure. Did you know we share our adventures and updates regularly across our socials? You can join us with a follow here.

Cheers to many more stories, adventures, and shared memories to come!
